I have replaced a couple on Strats.

Work great.
Easy to do. (How easy? I did it, if that tells you.)

I too just installed one on my recent LP project guitar.
It's good material to work with as far as cutting and shaping.

FWIW, it's one of the "add-on" choices when you buy a neck from Warmoth.

I'm making a new nut for a Rickenbacker bass out of black Tusq XL right now. First time I've used it, but I like what I'm seeing so far. Cuts, files, and sands well. Right out of the mold, it has kind of a grainy finish, so I'm not sure how it will polish up.

The original Ric nut is bakelite. Rics are so weird.

Interesting point Te, it does have kind of a "grainy" texture to it and I never even thought of polish Tusq.

On my LP, I just smoothed & contoured with P1200 and left it at that. Looked fine IMO. Kind of a satin look.

Post back if you do polish it up, and let us know what your experience was.
