Maybe not hell. But you won’t need a jacket.

I know it seems wrong, but I like the feel of the strat switch tip better than the Tele one. More streamlined...

Probably just trying to justify my decision ;^)

I agree, Mick.

The little round-barrel Tele switch tip works okay, and the tall top-hat style tip is a clown act.

I know for a fact that Leo and crew did not design these switch tips because they both were used on other electronic items as early as the late 1930s. The little round barrel started life as a threaded knob that held removable panels in place.

The conical Strat tip was a purpose-made design, and is quite elegant; it lends to the sleek, space-age/futuristic appearance of the Stratocaster. Imagine one of those goofy top-hat tips on a Strat. That would be a jailable offense!

I have a Strat-o-copy with a Tele switch tip. So, wherever we go, I’ll see you there.

Strat switch tip on a Tele = sacrilege??

Not even close.

I put a Strat neck on my homebrew Tele.

Bring on the purists!!

I put a modern strat trem and 2 humbuckers on a tele. My pastor said I'm fine, not straight to hell just purgatory.

I jammed a Tele motor into a Strat body.

Do I require Papal dispensation?

Or would that be PayPal dispensation?

If it's the Church of Scientology...probably.

Thanks for the majority of moral support.
To those that disagree, and in my defence, I should note that I'm on some pretty heavy painkillers at the moment :^)

Interesting story Peegoo. The barrel tip does have a sort of "whatever's in parts bin" look about it!

If you carefully remove the switch tip (use rubber gloves) and then run the Tele through a Hazmat decontamination shower two or three times, you may be able to save it.

I had a Strat switch tip on this guitar, but thought it just made it look weird.
