Well, Austin Rogers lost yesterday. If he had bet just $52 dollars more on Final Jeopardy he would have won.

He seemed like a very good sport about it. Maybe relieved. Appeared to feel good for the winner.

But I think he was glad to qualify for the Tournament of Champions. If he had kept on winning and winning he would have had to wait until next year for the Tournament of Champions.

My opinion:

The categories were "fixed".. my wife thought this was all too obvious. He played well, won well, and lost well.

I am certain Alex is joyfully anticipating Austin's return . : )

My wife was flipping channels and she just happened to stop right at the end of final Jeopardy - just in time to see him lose.

Did he do like he did when he missed a Daily Double question and just say "Yeah ok, whatever'?

How much you want to bet the woman who beat him (and played brilliantly) will be dispatched very quickly? I've seen this happen many times.
The TOC will be must-see-tv when it comes up.

Yep, she seemed get theater questions out the kazoo, she was certainly in her best knowledge area. Final Jeopardy was one of the easiest questions, I've heard in years.

I'm not saying there was anything going on, but it sure seemed a bit coincidental to me.

As we expected, she got blown ouit the day after her "win".
No duh !!

Does Alex really think people are that stoopid.?

Yes I think he does.

Alex controls the program and the contestants.

Shades of the early game shows.

"I'll take 'Stuff Austin Doesn't Know' for $1,000..."

I don't think there would have been enough clues to fill up that category.

Only reason he lost was not betting enough.

Early in the week, Alex made a point of saying if Austin kept winning be wouldn't be elligable for the tournament of champions.

I truly believe it was staged, so Austin didn't have to return to LA

Hey y'all:

Austin will be appearing on the Jeopardy Tournament of Champions tomorrow!

Can't believe Lily Chin lost today. She was just borderline nerdy enough to have been unbeatable.

Well (spoiler alert) Austin ran into a buzz saw named Alan last night on the Tournament of Champeens. To tell the truth I never thought Austin as being that consistently good a player. he was certainly smart and quick enough on the signal button (the key to winning on jeopardy) but it seemed as if a lot of success depended on his finding the daily doubles, betting huge and getting the right answers. When other players found the doubles and got the rights answers, Austin barely squeaked through on several of his games.

Has anyone else noticed that people who hold the buzzer out from the body seem to not buzz in soon enough? It's as if holding it like that slows you down.

It's probably an economy of motion thing. When I get on Jeopardy I'll just set mine down on the desk and move just my thumb, not my whole arm.

Austin's final score of $16k *should* be enough to get him into the semi-final, but he'll have to perform a lot better than he did last night if a spot on the final trio he seeks.

The show is fixed.

Categories and contestants analyzed, and the "producers" pick the winners by picking the questions. Alex is a producer and has a profound dislike of anyone who doesn't play by his rules or kiss his donkey.
