Honestly, if things don't pick up around here and enough donations don't come in, why should I keep it going? Don't I get to retire?

I'm 68 also but feel much younger until I try to stand up when I'm in the floor playing with my grandkids.
I think my brain is still fairly strong. I feel good most of the time.

It never ceases to amaze me how fast life has gone by. George Harrison summed it up pretty good in his documentary (watched it again on netflix) when he said "forty years goes by just like that." And he snapped his fingers. That is so true. If there is something you have been thinking of doing, DO IT before it's too late.

How to make life SEEM longer .... call customer service (any) and enjoy the limbo-land of being on hold.
You keep looking at the clock ..."four minutes? Really? Seems like twenty."

Miss your left turn because some bozo ahead of you was too busy texting and squeaked through on the yellow. The wait for the next green arrow will seem endless. Enjoy those minutes.

Listen to your wife describe (in excruciating detail) the dream she had last night about people she knew in high school that you never met.... "so I open my locker and Lisa Loomis is inside and she's wearing that locket that my mom gave me in 1985 ... remember that one? With the green stone in the center .... well, not exactly in the center ..... it was offset because of that time it got damaged when I closed that drawer on it ... anyway ..."

You don't have to be retired to enjoy life...but it helps! :o)

I'm still working but I am able to leave work at work when I go home. My favorite thing is the time I spend with the little grandkids. I have 5 ages 20, 18, 8, 6, 1.5.

I'm going to comment on this thread as soon as I figure out what witticism I'm going to offer. But my driver's license says 68 (actually, it doesn't talk, but I digress...), so I guess I'm glad that I have so many contemporaries still here.

I am bummed out, however, by the passing of yet another poet of our generation. I liked Tom Petty, but I didn't realize how much until he was gone. There is a message, there, I guess...
