That's a LOT of damn money so it better be at least twice as good as my 1997 '65 DRRI.

The demos of the 64 DRCRI are telling me one thing: the amp
sounds like mine 65 DRRI from 2005...!

Ok, Reverb on the Normal-channel is fine, the C12Q helps in
getting the distortion earlier and the handwired board is nice
in case of an error - but 1.000,- Euros (!) more ?!?

All the musicians playing the DRRI in the last 24 years can`t be
wrong ;-)

Not disputing the price difference. I am wondering if anyone has heard the difference in sound. One of the big thing this boasts is the period specific caps and the speaker difference. To it's credit, it is hardwired by a person in this the U.S.A. and does use a solid pine cabinet.

I am not a person that gets excited for a release when it first comes out but I am in the market for a new amp and was looking at one of these or one of the new custom 57's... just want to see which one will be the most different from my Vibro-King. I will sit on a decision for a while.

some one mentioned that this does have a different vibrato than the 65 as well... not sure about this so just asking at he moment for some facts and opinions about the sound.

I guess the only way you'll know is to do a side by side test yourself.

I think the only way to know if it’s for you is to hear it for yourself. Period correct caps whether they are pio or anything else shouldn’t mean much as a cap value is a cap value . It’s just slick marketing . Use your ears to decide. If what you hear is worth the extra coin then that’s all that matters.

Yep, it's my understanding that electrons simply don't care about such things.

And at an RRP of $4,999AU, you won't find one in my music room any time soon.

I imagine you could find an original and do any work required for less $$$$.
