The Playboy founder was 91.
He had a cool jazz program on TV in the late 50s, Playboy after dark.
Some of the performances are on youtube.

As a teenager my parents allowed me to have a subscription to Playboy.

The pictures were certainly great, but the articles opened my mind more than any class at school!

RIP, Hef. He started a publication revolution, however, I was never a fan of that sauve/avent garde/smoking jacket sort of a lifestyle that he projected. It was all BS to me but he did have a long run.

As a young teen boy I had either read or heard that each Playmate photo shoot was begun with a make up artist, who carefully applied his wares to every inch of the model's fully exposed body.

When my parents overheard me tell a friend of my frantic desire to become a makeup artist, I managed to convince them that my interest was solely inspired by the makeup done in monster movies.

By "CG" I take it that you mean Chris Greene.

It's not nice to speak ill of the dead, but I'll be the alternative voice here:

A man who objectified women...

...don't know about the rest of you, but I wouldn't want him anywhere near my daughters.

Sleaze bag. He demeaned women, made them objects and then tried to make it acceptable. If there was any "justice" in this world he would have died of a nasty STD many years ago. If you want to point the finger at the downfall of "family values" here's where to point it.

I am disappointed, but not surprised, by many of the comments here.

Edit to add: Rev Mikes' post must have added while I was composing mine. Well said!

Interesting trajectory. Part of the sexual revolution tied to the free spirit 60's movement, free speech, etc. Then vilified by many of the same people who embraced that revolution. Not taking a position, just making an observation. Pop culture is a fickle thing.

I read and article titled something like "Confessions of an ex Playmate." She said that pet dogs resided in the master bedroom, where they kept a poop scooper to clean up the carpet. Eew!
