Bet they don't have a bocce ball court either. Tennis is on the downward dog side of the curve. I thought the Williams sisters would keep it alive but no love. Our local tennis club is taking out courts to make room for wedding and event space.

"...Well, if we're discussing squash courts, "tarnation" just seemed like the wrong expletive..."

I would consider "Pshaw" to have been the ideal interjection.

CO2 ... is there anything it can't do?

Not for nothing, but we (I say "we" but I actually didn't lift a finger -- but the project was was funded by my local taxes through a CPA) restored a wreck of a park at the end of my street. Seven new tennis courts were built, a new basketball court, a toddler playground, a picnic area, and a canoe launch into the river. And to answer TJ -- two bocce courts were just installed after the easement was approved by town meeting.

The tennis courts and basketball courts are pretty much packed at peak hours on nice days -- I haven't seen anyone at the bocce courts yet.

The canoe launch was always pretty popular, but it's much nicer now.

It's nice to see my tax dollars going to something useful for a change.

Sorry Chris -- no squash for you.

If you keep asking the locals about squash and racquetball, they're going to deport you back to SoCal, sir.

I know. There's already discussion in the county commissioners' office about this very thing. I guess they can see who's calling these days.

Yea, we got an advisory notice from the local police about unabated squashery and its effects on the youth.

Chris,

Passie is where you pass the ball backwards and forwards.

Same way I play soccer these days too!

That's the ticket!

It is basically a warm up without the proceeding competition.

So Mr. Greene can be a squashless snowflake who gets a trophy for merely playing? :)

Fun game: when reading CG’s posts, read them with a Scrooge McDuck accent. This thread title is a great example.

It almost always works.

Cornhole; the choice of a new generation! Honestly, that is THE game these days. It's what Frisbee was to hippies.

I refuse to play a game with such a name. I have tossed beanbags at a slanted board with target holes, and kept score. But I have never, ever played cornhole!

Never heard of him, but that is one badass name.

P.G. Wodehouse, counselor. I'm sure there's something on YT from the TV version with Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry.
