10 year old roof, edge damage from Irma repaired but the shingles used don't match the relic job of the rest of the roof from the oak tree.

A flat acrylic paint that matches, perhaps?

I've done it on an emergency patch. I only had white shingles available for a 4 piece repair. I used black, brown and green spray paint and ended up with a good match. Don't expect it to last very long. A couple years at the most, between the paint fading and the shingle surface wearing off.

There's so much reflected heat up there that I'd be surprised if paint would would stay on for long, especially not water-based paint. I would expect it to bubble and lift in the summer.

Then again, what do you have t'lose? Give it a shot and see what happens.

This stuff will keep the water out...

...but it won't look "pretty":

Our HOA dictates when the new roofs go on, I think we have another 4-5 years. GF, you're probably right, not worth it.

The thing about this one is, everyone knows what happened and you're not the only one ... I'm pretty sure. ;)
