Hi all... I have an early '70s silverface Vibro Champ. Lovely little amp, but the small speaker is limited, and I'd like to run an extension cab with amp for some uses. Of course, there's no output on the amp for a cab. So, my question: Is it possible to have such an output installed? Will the amp's chassis handle the mod?

Thanks in advance!

I used to run a 4 ohm 2x12 cab with mine. All you need is a RCA (amp side) to 1/4" jack cable or whatever your extension cab needs. This will disconnect the in cab speaker. Mine sounded great through the 2x12 but I eventually put it in a larger cab with a Weber P12-Q and got rid of the 2x12 cab. Really easy to do this all you need is a cable. Stay as close to 4 ohms as possible.

About as ordinary as you can get.

Yep, 4 ohm total load not matter what speakers you use. You don't need those big, heavy duty speakers for a Champ. A 4 ohm, light duty old Jensen would sound great.

I replaced the RCA type jack with a 1/4 inch phono jack on my Vibrochamp (very easy) and used a 8 ohm 12" cab with it. Sounded awesome cranked with no problems.
