Just picked up an Electromatic G5435 Pro Jet (the one without a bigsby), First off, really nice guitar for the price. I got it used from a local store for $100 of the regular price. I think someone returned it because it was badly set up.. the neck had no relief, the action was way too high and a couple of the saddles needed to be turned around to get the right intonation. Once that was done it played great.

Anyway, I was thinking of putting a B7 bigsby on it but once I started playing it I found it really versatile for stuff beyond the typical rockabilly stuff. And this leads to my question.. right now the tuning is very stable and it has a lot of sustain.. great for that non-rockabilly stuff. How much will that change with the bigsby added?

I guess I could try it and see but that means drilling holes unless I get a vibramate.. and then the question becomes how much does the vibramate affect tone, tuning etc?

Actually, another question.. not sure if the B7 Vibramate will fit since the measurements are not exactly the same as a LP. Anyone know or tried it?

If it helps anyone else out there the V7 vibramate won't fit. See attached diagram. It needs 6 inches from strap button to the tailpiece and the Jet is just shy of 7 (I measured mine).

So the only option is the B7 alone or a B5 with Vibramate. I know the pro jet comes with a B5 but I like the B7 better.
