I'm not a football guy (golf and baseball) but the NFL is helping itself commit suicide right before our very eyes. Baseball better be careful because they have been in the lead for self-destruction many times in the past. Now, it seems to be the NFL's turn.

It was an interesting struggle, but I too noticed that some venues are packed, Foxboro, Packers, Cowboys, Giants, Vikes, and others tend not to show the stands and the unoccupied seats.

I figure it's prices as much as play and behavior. A Cowboys game, after you've bought tickets, parking, concessions, souvenir, can run you 500 bucks...if your seats are really good. That is and has been a real choker for many fans who just stay home and watch for free.

Chargers might be smart to sign a long term lease on that cute little boutique stadium in Carson. No need to throw money away on a larger place when yo only draw a few thousand fans.

My .02

The empty seats are due to two issues.

One, the league allowing the players to disrespect the Country that lets them become multi millionaires by playing a game.

Two, The cleaning up of the game, IE no longer allowing players to hit other players.

Like it or not Football is a blood sport. Trying to make it a non combat game is destroying it.

So I suppose we will have to get used to watching boring games, until football is banned then we will get to watch even more boring games, like soccer.

"Like it or not Football is a blood sport. Trying to make it a non combat game is destroying it."

i think you nailed it sir...the game has been sanitized over the last 10-15 years...give or take...

more rules, more penalties, more replay reviews, more commercials, more challenges..you can't tackle high, you can't tackle low, you can't lead with your head....they've neutered running back kick offs,

the league is so worried about injuries to players and half of them don't wear knee pads and those puny shoulder pads they all wear now...shoulder pads used to be huge!...the list goes on....

Football probably has more rules on what you can't do than any other sport...and of course who could forget ole Colin Kapernick... he sort of became the straw that broke the camel's back.

at this point, I don't see it as a fixable situation...they might as well play flag football.
