Wow, talk about parity! We have six to eight points or so separating the top six or so teams in each division. Just a small handful of teams with no apparent chances.....perhaps.

"Vegas Golden Knights defeat the Bruins 3-1. The newbies are off to a good start. (4 & 1)"

It appears that now (a month and a half after the quoted post) the Golden Knights are still standing pretty strong.

yeah...the Knights are playing very good for a first year team......

as opposed to the first year of the Washington Caps in 1974-75...where they went 8-67-5...being a fan that years was just plain punishing...

I remember it well

I LOVE hockey. By far the best of all the major sports, but damn this season has been flat out dis-heartening.

As a Sabres fan (I know...let the snickering begin, I can hear it already), I expected so much more

I figured with the talent on this roster...maybe .500ish hockey through December and then some improvement as the team gels and sneak into the playoffs.

But damn...this team is just flat out awful. They suck beyond suck...they are worse than the last two or three seasons (including the tank season)and I would have previously thought that impossible.

I loved hiring Housley as head coach, but I think he's already lost the locker room. I think the wholesale destruction of this roster is coming.

And I know Reinhart and Kane will be gone, and personally that would be a mistake, but Ryan O'Reilly, my word, unload that salary ASAP...he's just so "not" a leader and his play is not worth the money he makes. But I think his reputation is still strong enough to get some value back.

It really has been awful.

Any Leaf fan that cheered the team through their four Stanley Cup wins in the 1960's has a special place in their heart for Johnny Bower. RIP.

Rangers beat Caps 1-0 in shootout! Actually, I watched the whole game, but missed the shootout.

Too much glare from the sun.

There has to be a better way. Move the Winter Classic closer to evening or perhaps an open-air stadium....

My thoughts were the same regarding the sun.
This is supposed to be a marquee event to draw in
new fans. Very difficult to follow the puck. I am only
watcing as a Ranger fan, not for the spectical.
Second period much better in terms of shadows.

I switched back for the last few minutes of the 3rd period and the brief overtime. It (the glare/shadow) was indeed much better.

I’m not a fan of these games. Canada played the USA (World Juniors), outdoors in Buffalo on the 29th. With the falling snow, it was a real gong show.

*** USA vs Russia tonight. Should be a great game.
