His tune Tulsa Time was HUGE in the 70s.

Eric Clapton covered it not too long afterward.

Williams had a string of hits. He seemed like a really laid-back sorta guy.

Rest in peace.

Just heard about this...one of my top all time favorite country singers is gone. I loved his laidback delivery and material. I listen to his work all the time and his passing really hits me hard. RIP

We used to play lots of Don Williams songs back in the late 70's. Saw him live and one of the best concerts I've ever attended. Met Don after the concert. He is a fellow west Texan.

RIP Don.

I was listening to a lot of country back during his glory days. Always enjoyed him.

I saw him at a small hall about 15 years ago or so.

The bass from his voice could just about rattle the roof off!

He hung out after the show and shook hands and signed autographs.

Class act, and great performer.

Rest easy, Gentle Giant.
