Today, Equifax reported a massive data breach that potentially discloses critical information on more than 100 million Americans.

We're way past putting up with this crap. Congress needs to pass legislation that demands the harshest penalty imaginable for such hackers. And we need to spare no expense to ferret out these scum...and no national boundaries should limit us.

I work in a call center for Experian, not Equifax, but I still have a feeling that tomorrow is going to be a VERY busy day...

Well, at least three senior execs dumped stock after the breach but before it was made public. Of course, they had no idea according to the company...

Can we pretty much agree that the term “web security” is an oxymoron and that the government and public/private businesses have no guaranteed defense against hacking in today’s web-based application and data transfer and storage environment? The question is, where do we go from here? I don’t have an answer or even a suggestion. Virginia, do you believe in Santa Clause?

My wife and I put in separate fraud alerts with Equifax this morning. Equifax shares the fraud alerts with the other two outfits.

Sandy I just realized that the condom I used when we slept together a couple of weeks ago was defective. I am so sorry. Rest assured, whatever happens I will provide moral support. Honestly, I really do care.

The credit reporting service covered by Equifax after the data breach is so backed up that I can't even apply until Monday!

What's to say their enrollment web site isn't vulnerable?

I have a son who works in network security. This thing is really, really bad!

Fortunately, we've had our credit frozen since April after having 10 days worth of mail stolen from our local post office while they were supposed to be holding it while we were on vacation to Arizona. You can't trust anybody anymore...ANYBODY!

"What's to say their enrollment web site isn't vulnerable?"

Exactly. So you want me to load my name and SSN into your cheesy website to find out if my personal info, which, by the way, I didn't give you -- you took it upon yourselves to collect and store it on your own, was hacked from your database, obviously maintained by incompetent apes?

How stupid do you think we are?

I hope every man, woman, and swamp creature in Congress are the first on the list to get their accounts swiped.

And if the execs who dumped their stock aren't behind bars in three months, we seriously need to consider starting the reset.

Oh -- BTW. If you enroll in Equifax's credit monitoring scam that they are so graciously providing free of charge (for one year), you waive your right to participate in any further class action suit against them.
