Just a heads up. FDP sponsor Antique Electronics has 6L6GC JJ tubes on sale for $13.65 each ($3 off) and $30.30 for a match pair, $60.60 for a matched quad. I know every one is not a fan but this is a pretty good price.

I've used JJ's in the past so have experience with them.

They have their pro's and cons, and for the current production glass bottles, they are probably about the best bang for the buck.

The Pro's are that they are pretty solid. Very strong and robust and take a beating. That's the reason many amp builders are using them, case in point, Fargen.

They know that they will last and being robust means less warranty return work.

The cons are that they are pretty "vanilla" sounding to my ears. They simply don't have that 3D soundscape that a good NOS RCA, Mullard, Tungsol or Raytheon has.

If you gig 3x a week and work the heck out of your amp, J.J.'s are the way to go.

If your doing quality studio or recording work, do yourself a favor and go with NOS or even ANOS.
