Just the modeler that came bundled with PT 10(not the rack). For the most part I've been ignoring it but kinda like the way this one turned out.

This is an instro track I scratched out on 2 guitars and a portastudio 16 years ago or so, finally decided to make it a "real" song with drums and such. One part Santo and Johnny, a dash of Roy Buchanan...

Thanks Leftee. As a hack keyboard player I also find the DB33 organ VI in Pro Tools crazy good.

Sounds good Larry! I've never really bonded with the Eleven Rack plugin in ProTools and always find myself recording guitar parts wet through my Mustang III or V. It sounds very good on your recording though!

Thanks Juice. Yeah, I've mostly ignored Eleven but have had a bit of luck with it the last couple of sessions. I used the preset linked (tweaked a little), with some compression in the chain. Then bussed it out to a stereo delay and stereo reverb. The mono to stereo brought it to life.

Thanks for posting your settings. I'll have to give it a shot again. Personally I've had better luck with the Sansamp plugin for electric and bass, but I'm going to go back and play with eleven rack a little more.

I'm absolutely blown away by that track. Killer! Totally my thing too. Surf meets the blues. Good one on ya!

Thanks Hammond. At the time I came up with the idea I was also highly moved by the sound of our own Mr. Wilsey, wickedgtr. A clean Strat, delay and whammy still hits my g(uitar) spot.

Pretty damn nifty Larry.

Try adding a unison line of the first part of the head on slide.

I admire your work.

Another great one Larry.

I have the Eleven Rack hardware version. That's all I've used to record electric guitar for the last couple of years. It sounds really good and is so much easier to get a good sound with. Miking up an amp CAN sound better but you'd have to work really hard at it for that to happen.

Nice, the main melody has a bit of a Sleepwalk sound to it. I like the guitar tone too. Cool!

Thanks gents. Roly, I'd love to try the slide thing but fear it'd take it even farther into the Sleepwalk territory. Melodically it's already deep into that direction, only the "Loan me a dime" chord progression saves it from utter plagiarism, hah!

Really nice Larry. Quintessential stratiness tone and whammy action there. Hmmm, I hear a little "Summertime" a la Janis in there too.

Thanks Mark. Yep, that descending minor thingy, from Summertime to Stairway ;-)
