Gerry, our cake baking, earth quaking, hip shaking, leaf raking, candy taking, head faking, love making, stake out staking and baby waking drummer will be here to help with the drum chores.

He's also bringing crumb cake so any of you on the fence, Gerry's crumb cake makes the drive worth the effort.

Kids, if we don't start getting our collective sh$% together on this list, I foresee a massive trainwreck coming our way. We need to cut some songs, especially ones that feature horns, and sub in some other easy, jam-friendly songs for the cuts and the songs that aren't getting filled in. And we need to do it quickly. We are one month out.

K-9; Thank You for pointing that out. As a drummer, and a Royal P.I.T.A. (Pain in the A$$) here is my two cents. You are 100% right, we don't have the time to fool around. Let's look at the List.

Right now G-Man has eleven (11) songs high-lighted, that are on the chopping block; nine (9) without any guitar love.

At this point, do we cut these eleven songs; and bring up the next eleven songs on the List of Love, and hope for the best. Or create 11 new song suggestions. This is "OUR" decision. We can't and shouldn't leave it up to G-Man.

As a drummer, my musical tastes are different. To be honest, most of my song suggestions either didn't get enough votes to make the final L.O.L or got no guitar love at "Pick" time. FYI, my first five picks were "Wild Cards", the rest of the song picks were based on the amount of players that already picked that song. I also broke my own self cap (15) rule.

I know that we are going to get some walk-ins, but we can't expect them to fill the card. We also can't depend on a dozen last minute "Audible" picks, if we scratch the songs.

Like Joe said, this could be a real train wreck!!!

The voices in my head ALL agree!

@ my fellow participants for "Into the Mystic"

If you were worried about not having a horn section for this song; Please check out the "Allman Brothers" version on you tube. There are some interesting ideas there.

If I could figure out how to do a link, I would have; with the medications I am taking for the "Voices in my Head", I'm lucky I still remember how to type !!!!!!

Hey all, I keep looking at the list and I'm wondering if I should put effort into some of these songs. I'm on two " horn" songs, smooth and signed sealed and delivered. My opinion is they will fall flat without the horns. Also I'm on two songs all alone, uncle John's band and we got to get out of this place. I'm down for still playing them but if they are not going to happen I'd rather spend my efforts elsewhere.

I'm gonna jump on "It Don't Come Easy and Surfin USA" to keep those songs alive. Guitar and vocals.

I'm working on editing the list now. My plan is to delete the tunes that only have 0-2 signups and replace them with guitar/keyboard oriented classics that we know.

Songs that are out
Maybelene, Tears of a Clown, Memphis, I will Survive, We Got to get Out of This Place, Uncle John's Band, Centerfold, Listen To The Music, Signed Sealed Delivered, Hold On Loosely and Kodachrome.

Replacement suggestions can be tunes from previous jams. We are going to need more of us to handle vocals, so really consider singing a tune and be ready with lyric sheets for your lead vocal.

I'm looking through some old clamfest song lists for tunes that had full participation, are easy and we could do on the spot.
Keep Your Hands To Yourself
Satisfaction
Gimme Shelter
You Shook Me
Runaway
Twist and Shout
American Girl
Sweet Home Alabama
Should I Stay or Should I Go?
Back In the USSR
All Over Now
US Blues
Bertha
Already Gone

I have Decoy practice tonite 9/18 monday and will get the picks from the guys. If Kenny our singer can make it, he can cover a lot of the vocal spots. Jerry and Johnny sing lots of leads too.

We will get this nailed down. The jam shall be awesome as usual

From Pete's suggestions above, I'd be able to help out with on keys or vox depending on the song:

Keep Your Hands To Yourself
Runaway
Twist and Shout
American Girl
Sweet Home Alabama
US Blues
Bertha
Already Gone

I don't recall if I asked before, do I need to bring the full keyboard rig? By that I mean the Hammond/Leslie AND my piano/synth? No problem on both but I'll need a bit more stage room because since I've added the lower manual to the Hammond I can't really stack the piano and organ in tiers like I normally would.

@K-9: Joe; A suggestion, (and food for thought) in that there is no horn section, that entire section of stage will be open. Usually we place the horn section, drums, and bass on the stage; the guitar amp line is the first one foot of the stage front. There should be enough room for the Leslie and the rest of the Keyboard rigs you want to use. And you know my theory, (I love that Leslie sound) I WILL MAKE IT FIT!!!!!

FYI for everybody; I took it upon myself to "invite" a couple of drummer friends, besides the usual players that come, to help fill in some of the blanks. (G-Man is aware of what I am about to state.) I promise you, every song we do, "WILL" have a drummer.

The "Voices" in my head all agree; this Jam will be AWESOME, and then some. See you all soon.

OK replacement songs are added and some have taken slots. there are Petes tried and true songs from previous clamfests. Go take a look and pick some slots or wait for day of and pick em at the OTL. But if you get em now you can practice because you know you got the slot....

Guys, I regret to inform you I cannot attend the jam :o(

My company was re-competing for a DoD contract and we were edged out by a competitor, so as of Monday I will be unemployed. So I will be working the boards getting into my next gig over the next few weeks.

Time to sell some of my gazillion guitars so I can eat :o) I'll be A-ok, don't you worry about me :o) Having a sugar mama helps!

Rock the pavilion, y'all!
