A lot of discussions with this topic but has anyone actually tried it ? Replicating the Tele tone is one thing but modification on the pickguard in terms of position ? I'd like to hear.

I have a Strat with it. It is Tele-like, but not precisely the Tele bridge tone.

The reason is the big metal surround of the Telecaster's bridge plate: it is a major factor in that spankiness you hear from a standard Tele bridge pickup.

Another reason is that the bridge pickup isn't actually in the same place on the two guitars. The Strat bridge pickup is slightly closer to the bridge, especially on the bass side, as the Tele has a steeper angle. Years ago someone mocked up an overlay in CAD so you could see clearly, but I'm not sure where to begin finding it.

Yet another reason is frankly that a Tele acoustically is a beefier sounding instrument... no trem for starters.

A couple short cuts would be adding a plate to a Strat bridge pickup, and making sure it is wired to a tone control. Having a tone control on 10 and having it wide open without a control aren't the same thing, and wide open is brighter.

No reason why putting a Tele pickup in a Strat wouldn't sound amazing, though. I'm sure custom PG places can give you one ready to go with the proper holes if you want to try. Also, don't hold your breath on traditional Strat routing being sufficient. It might be, but I'd want to verify that before assuming.
