FDP Forum / Miscellaneous and Non-Fender Topics / What if any chasis would fit an original G-Dec Cabinet??

My G-dec gave up the ghost. I think I did it myself spraying the inputs with deoxit. I must have shorted something.

Anyway, no big loss, but the cabinet is mighty fine still, absolutely mint. I don't want to just put it on the curb and was wondering if there was possibly a chassis such as a champ or similar that might work??

Not knowing demensions, I was just curious as I hate to throw away a really nice Fender cabinet.

About as ordinary as you can get.

A Champ is the only chassis that might fit the cab.

Yeah, they look pretty close in dimension. It might take some spacer or similar, but I don't have the expertise, I might take it to the amp man....

They have been discontinued, but you can find a used one at the usual sources. If you buy used at GC take the insurance.

If it doesn't have to be an amp, pull the speaker, make a new baffle from 1/4" black-painted Masonite, face it with the old grill cloth, and install a clock motor. Use guitar picks for the number positions.

You will have the coolest clock in your city, guar-ran-teed!

I like the extension cab angle. I don't need one, but it's better than the curb.

I made an x-cab out of a blown up Mesa Boogie Rocket 44 I bought cheap on CL. Not sure if I have a picture of it in my profile.

Jay, I am not sure the Deon it did anything bad. Are the Jacks those plastic square things? Replace them with a good switch craft jack.
