I have a Boss RC 2 which is useful for the simple looping I'm using it for. However, I think it does color the overall sound. I'm wondering if the TC Electronics Ditto would be better in not affecting the tone. That it is smaller and has the basic functions is also apoealing. Opinions?

The ditto works great. I have no plans on changing mine.

The TC flashback and Alter Ego delay pedals also have a looper setting that functions just like the ditto but with a shorter loop time limit.

A student of mine has the EHX Nano 360, which functions just like the ditto, is a little larger but has 11 loop memory slots, which is pretty useful. EHX also have their Canyon pedal, their version of the TC flashback delay with a built in looper too.

I'll echo the Ditto. It provides a very accurate recreation of what is played into it.

I like the simplicity of the Ditto but really could use built-in basic drum tracks when practicing scales. I have a Boss RC3 which has tracks, but I've never been able to get a smooth comfort level with it. I'm too dumb!

On the RC 2 there is a drum beat that is automatic, you just turn the volume up or down.

So I did order the Ditto from Amazon through the FDP link. It was either them or MF. MF was a bit more, as they were taking state tax out, and Amazon was free 2 day shipping with Prime. As I hoped, the Ditto is way clearer and quieter, smaller of course.

Tip: Turn the Ditto sideways (horizontal) to better see the LED while you're tapping. Makes my life much easier.

Which simple looper has USB out to save loops in wav (or other) format? I'd like to use one as a conduit to my pc. Don't want anything with too many pedals, knobs & switches because if it's too complex I won't use it!

The Boss RC-3 has a USB output.

Not overly complex, either

Ditto sounds great to me!

Haven't practiced this much in years! Love it.
