FDP Forum / Fender Amps: Vintage (before 1985) / What Speakers did TV front Deluxes have?

I'm looking into buying a TV pannel deluxe. The tweed is pretty torn up, but definitely not the worse I've seen in some pieces. It sounds GREAT, however, I'm not sure if the speaker is original and don't know what came standard in the amps from back then.

Most likely a Jensen, possibly a P12R or P12Q. The date code is the most important thing.

If a Jensen, it will start with 220. The next digit will be the last number of the year lets say 4 for 1954. The next two digits will be the week of production, say 35 for example.

So a speaker with a code of 220435 would have been manufactured by Jensen the 35th week of 1954........or 1964....Haha!

See the list of EIA codes for other manufacturers and electronics.
