Found this at a pawnshop during my regular rounds.

All I could get them to discount it was $5.

Well, I guess $400+ tax is a price I could live with.

It weighs at least 100+ lbs, but sounds amazing on all of the 4 channels available.

Good thing it's going to live in my home studio.

Even with the casters, I'd still need a fork lift to take it anywhere.

Thanks guys.

I don't find a lot of great deals on amps.

I find way more on guitars which is what I'm really into, but I won't pass up a great deal on a good tube amp when it presents itself.

Looks awesome, congrats!

And yeah - makes my back hurt just to think about hauling it around!

(My main amp is an M/B Express Plus 5:25. Love it, but it stays parked at church where it's played every Sunday - even though it's a LOT lighter than yours!)

This amp weighs in at 100lbs.

There's really no reason to take it out of my home studio.

My live gigging days are over, and the last amp I used out live was my '66 Fender BF Princeton Reverb.

That's about as heavy an amp as I'd want to take out to a gig.

I sucks getting old and tired.

That would've been a deal at *double* the price.

You stole that!

Guitar player in one of my old bands had one of those (brown tolex though). Sounded great but he paid nearly 4-grand for it here! (in 2003 or so)

Way too many knobs for me, but still a great sounding amp, and obviously a good deal for you.

WOW Mike. 4K

I'd have never thrown down that much money.

I really doubt I'd have paid more than $600 for this amp.

I already have 2 MKIIC+'s and a MKIIC head which are amazing amps.

I brought this home for the tons of tones and the price.

One you understand that there are basically 4 individual amps in one it's not hard at all.

You just set up each channel to your liking and that's it.

Just did a quick search in the online classifieds here, and the Roadsters (used - 2x12 or head) are going for $2000-$3000!!!

Mick when I see prices on gear in pawnshops, I ALWAYS check prices online with my smartphone.

When I saw the price on this amp, I knew on the spot it was a crazy deal.

ANY big Boogie combo for less than 1K is a pretty good deal.

Yes sir Leftee.

That's what amazed me the most.

I thought they were moving it cause it was dead and would not turn on.

I turned on and checked all 4 channels and all the settings.

Couldn't figure out why they priced the way they did.

Once in a great while you trip over these sorts of weird pricing schemes.

About 10 years ago I found a 2nd-hand Peavey Classic 20 1x10 combo (2x EL84s, made in the USA, tweed cab, Celestion Gold speaker upgrade) on the used pile at a local GC for $49.

I looked at the tagger and thought, "Forty-nine bucks? Must be DOA. The speaker is worth that if it's okay."

Nope. The thing worked great, and even had fresh JJs in it all the way across. Strange indeed.

Yep Peegoo.

Deals like that Peavey 20 happen when you put in the time going to music stores and pawnshops on a VERY regular basis.

You just never know how or when, but if you visit them enough, something will turn up.
