This is all voodoo to me and I suspect that all that was left of the Marshall was a particle board cab.

Still over a glass of wine - interesting to us uninitiated.

Yea, that's cab and grill cloth left along with the chassis cut to the new holes.

Seems like a waste of a working amp - sell it, buy a new cab etc, and just go from there at that point.

Surely a handmade clone is more expensive than buying the RI? Why spend more money to put it in a crappy marshall cab?

Did you notice that was a UK-made (Bletchley) Marshall? Still had good value.
