Anyone try these new guaranteed unbreakable for 90 days strings from Ernie Ball yet?

I bought ONE set to try on my B-Bender Tele.

They're $14.99 a set, but so far they feel and sound really good.

Still...

Balls!

"Our new state-of-the-art wire drawing process coupled with our patented RPS (reinforced plain string) technology dramatically increases tensile strength by up to 35% and provides up to 70% more fatigue strength than traditional strings."

Not yet.
Does tensile strength equal a stiffer string?
(that wouldn't be what i want)
but,
I'm all for giving them a try at least once.

At 30 bucks a set here, *I* won't be trying them!

My D'Addario EXL 110's at 7 bucks a set (AUD) do me just fine.

I'm not a vibrato bar guy nor am I a mental, hard right hand player so I rarely break strings. (whilst playing)

Usually the only time strings break on me is if I have a guitar on the bench that I'm working on, and have taken them off & on numerous times.

I haven't seen a need, but I only play stainless strings!

Like all new strings on the market, it's a new flavor, some people will love 'em, and some won't. Let your ears and fingers decide. Suck 'em and see.

@zenland: tensile strength and stiffness are not the same thing and are not directly related.

Tried them and didn't like the sound. Love the Cobalts though.

String breakage has never been an issue for me. So I would never buy a string for that reason alone.

It can be an issue with the B-Bender.

So far, I really am liking the sound.

Can't see getting another set at this price, but I'm assuming it'll come down in time.

That is a lot of money for a set of strings that I would change after 90 days anyway.

An extra E or B string (to replace one that might break) is a dollar. A $3.50 set of D'addarios and an extra string is $4.50. That equates to about three for the price of one, compared to the Para-diggums.

When I break a string, it's usually the B string. And that is on Fenders, Gibsons, Gretsches, so it's not the tool. It's the tool on the stool ;o)

"...Does tensile strength equal a stiffer string?

No. Higher tensile strength means you can stretch the string further before it will break but it doesn't mean it's any stiffer.

The modulus of elasticity (E) is what determines stiffness, and the E of high strength and low strength steels is about the same (30e6 psi).

Edit: Oops, sorry, didn't see DrKev's earlier post, which answered the same question.

I just bought 'em for the sake of trying them.

There's no shortage of guitar strings at my house.
