Couldn't help myself. Nice hardshell case, very clean leaning against seller's table. I could use a case, but I found a Suzuki 38" nylon string inside. Tuned perfect, strummed the strings and it was a small cannon. Whoa!

Seller said it was a 73, clean as a whistle in and out. Bridge was solid, no lean. Crisp and sweet sounding. Then he says he had it up for $200, but would take $150. Me, no I don't need another, even though this sounds killer.
He sez,
$140
Then
$120
I see this guy at the market alot and I say I DON'T need it even for $100.
I'll take the $100.
Done deal.

Nicely done. One of my negotiating tips is silence and really not interested. Works, as you found out.

This got me wondering if there is a market for weekly flea market for guitars, amps and gear.

this flea market is only a couple of miles from my house. It's 8-9 acres of outside tables and has been in this location for decades. Fri, Sat and Sun only. It's an easy walk.

Like Forrest Gump said, 'you never know what you're gonna get." With my picnic grounds business, I find sporting equipment, kitchen equipment, music gear, tools and of course the off the wall buy. I get great stuff for pennies and the hunt is fun

"With my picnic grounds business..."

That's a thing???

How's it work? Do you *own* picnic areas?

Sorry for the sidetrack. It's just that statement got me scratching my head :^)

Hey picnic--I just scored a 38" nylon string for the same price! It's a 1963 Guild Mark 1 all-mahogany classical.

My neighbor, a nice lady in her 60s, dabbled in folk music, but preferred her uke to her guitar, which she bought new. She did, unfortunately, lend the guitar to a couple of nieces and nephews, who didn't always treat it well. One put steel strings on it and tried to lower the action with a low saddle, which didn't work so he had to add cardboard to raise it to a usable height. One apparently overtightened the screws to one side of tuners, which caused a fine crack right on the grain of the headstock.

She offered it at our neighborhood yard sale, and when no one was biting at her listed price ($300), I offered $100. For that amount, plus a promise that she can visit it on my front porch occasionally, I received a nice repair project. It took me two tries to glue the crack with hide glue (Knox gelatin) heated on the kitchen stove (the first time, re-installing the tuners popped the seam open again). I made a new bone saddle, and it's now within spec for a classical. Sweet tone and pretty loud, though I wouldn't call it a "cannon." Very pretty.

I love flea market finds. My last was years ago. A working SF Champ for $140.

About 10 years ago I bought a 1966 Fender Vibro Champ at a church rummage sale for $2. The speaker was MIA.
After a new Weber speaker install it sounded awesome. Still have it.
Also once bought a matched set of Dynaco Mark III tube power amps for $10 for both.
Still have those as well.
