LP through a Marshall stack dimed on 11. Just sayin'. Short of that I found the Blackstone Appliance overdrive to be very good.

Will depend a LOT on the guitar and amp you're using.

Are you looking to push something that will already break up, or?

Same with pickups, etc.

And a lot of the classic "huge" fuzz tones you're probably chasing by that description are also going to have a ton of studio treatment - plate verbs, likely a period echo unit, etc.

I am using either a Super Reverb or the Suhr Badger35.
Guitars are Les Paul, Casino,Tele,Strat.

Thinking of putting the Super Reverb Chassis in a head cabinet and getting a 2x12 or a 1x15 speaker cabinet.

Then you're going to want something with heft on its own and sounds good with a BF-type tone stack.

I'm partial to the *right* Fuzz Face derivative (and what that will be depends on budget and actual sound you're looking for) or a Roland Bee Baa (or modern proper clone, it *has* to have the correct nasty treble boost for me to even consider it!).

Both those will go where you're asking, but you're going to want some sort of delay realistically after the thing as well.

Something like the "Spirit in the Sky" tone, comes to mind.

That is my classic sound when I think of fuzz tone.

Nothing better than a Big Muff to get that sound.

It makes that muffled, muted sound that you are chasing after in a fuzzy/distorted manner.
