FDP Forum / Fender Guitars: Stratocasters / Neck joint same on Am Series as Am Std?

I'm thinking about getting a new replacement neck from Warmouth. My Strat is a 2006 American Series, which is made during that brief time they weren't making the Standard. Is the neck joint the same? Will the standard Warmouth Strat neck fit correctly?

Yep, they are all the same dimensions.

However: you may need to adjust the sides of the neck pocket with some 220-grit paper on a little wooden block if the new neck is a tight fit.

You should not have to press the neck in place. If gravity doesn't allow the neck to fit, it's too tight.

Why? Because if you force the neck into place, the finish and wood at the edge of the pocket in the treble cutaway will crack due to the wood flexing. Not worth the risk.
