CG, if you happened to visit this thread, my old Brooks Brothers shirts look like the "lab coat" in the second commercial I just posted.

Some do, some don't. Depends on the cut but what I buy are dress shirts that are meant to be tucked in. I have some other shirts, mostly from Land's End that are shorter.

Most guys who wear shirts untucked are fat, millennial, or metro.

I'm #1 on occasion.

I rather like looking like I'm wearing a lab coat. In fact, sometimes I *do* wear a lab coat as a fashion statement.

It's the MAWG uniform: bowling/Hawaiian shirt, cargo shorts, and sneaks or sandals.

Don't forget the goatee and baseball cap or Tilley (or similar wide brim sun protector).

By the time you're 50 or so, you should dress like you went to an ivy league college before 1964.

As far as I'm concerned, tucking on your shirt is for work or for some occasion where I want to look fancy. For casual days, I'm not tucking my shirt.

I feel like I'm kind of at a weird crossroads as far as my casual clothing goes. I think I tend to dress a little younger than I am (tshirts, shorts, track pants, etc.), probably not enough that I look silly (I've double checked by asking people I trust to tell me the truth). I'm just not sure what I'm "supposed" to be wearing.

It is definitely NOT what CG suggests, but I'm not yet 50, ask me again in 9 years.

UPDATE: having googled the issue, it turns out I own everything I need but I should be wearing less t-shirts and track pants, and more collared shirts, sweaters, jeans and trousers, for casual days. Not that I don't have/wear those, but not as frequently as I apparently "should be".

Seems like it would be easy enough to implement that. Maybe I'll keep t-shirts and track pants for around the house and try to look a little snazzier when I'm out and about.

I'm still not tucking though.

Since I live Hawaii, it's a non issue. I haven't tucked a shirt in 17 yrs. I don't need their shirt.

And I too wonder about the Samuel Jackson's of the world wearing skinny pants, too short, too tight, the whole suit looks shrunken... and for the love of it, what is with the style of no socks with suits and slacks??

Do that for a while to your 300 buck Bruno Magli's and see what you got....

Today, I wore a Land's End ocbd untucked because they cut their shirts short enough that you can. Besides, it was pizza night...

I like the idea. Some of my shirts are too long to not tuck in.

"I like the idea. Some of my shirts are too long to not tuck in"

All of my dress shirts are. I buy separate, shorter button downs if I intend to wear them untucked.

The thing I don't get is, they are all over the place from all different types of companies. Not sure how "Untuckit" is a separate business when what they sell is available in pretty much any store that sells men's clothes.

Being in the fashion menswear business, these shirts are actually not rare. There are multiple companies making these exact style shirts. They are essentially made for young men 20-35 who are the ones who go to trendy bars and clubs. Not us with the Dad Bods.

These ads are really expensive. So, they must be selling like crazy since this ad has been running so long.

I buy most of my shirts at Costco. When Costco picks up this line I may consider it. In the meantime, I'll stick with the San Diego surfer look.T-Shirts, golf T's and Hawaiian. In addition, I have dress shirts when needed.
