Crappy pic, but a great sunset!

Earlier tonight.

"That's a great flaming ball on the horizon!"

and the further it went down, the more it looked like an A-Bomb going off......scary!

That is an interesting image, Saturn. Where is that?

Hey Leftee,

That is at the local university campus. Newly done, so hopefully not too cliched!

Thinking it lends to some band shots.

Maybe I will need to start one.

Saturn, I really like that shot. It had me studying it, and I'm sure I'll come back and look at it again.

Nice leading line, to a framed 'and' encapsulated sunset, with interesting focal points in the foreground, and the tree limb breaks up what could have been too much free space.

Definitely interesting and beautiful.

Yes, it is somewhat surreal and makes one stop and study.

I agree about the tree limb. Had that not been in the frame I would have cropped the image lower.

Very nice. How would it look if you cropped a wee bit off the right side to decenter the sun?

Good point. I did bring that side in a little. I think it could stand a little more.

Here's a different crop. I also dropped some of the highlight. There was a lot of cloud feature that was lost in the hottest area of the image.

Again

Me too.

Thanks! I agonize over crops sometimes - and I still have room for improvement.

Sometimes, a different set of eyes helps to see an image differently. And, of course, sometimes that different set of eyes doesn't know what the hell they're talking about. ;o)

I snapped this one a little over a month before we moved from Michigan to Florida. This is at a park about a mile from our old home.

Cellphone pic, but it grabbed the moment.

West Texas sunsets have to be the best but I don't have one to show you at the moment.

Here's a sunset from last winter. I used an ND filter and did a 30 second exposure. San Jaun islands from Cherry point north of Bellingham Wa.

Very nice... both of those!

I’ve been so busy lately that my cameras have sat unused. That makes me a little sad.

My guitars, even more so.
