Anyone knows why so many 69-71 stratocaster neck stamps are faded so much they are gone or almost gone?? Could it be the interaction between the lacguers (paints) between neck and body??

I found a YT vid about some necks where there was no date stamp. In the late 50's the guy referred to it as the "Kirkwood era". I had never heard of that and I've been a Fender guy forever. If a neck ever had a date on it, I have not seen any just fade out.

Ditto. I've never heard of it either. Might bear a bit more looking into.

Many Fender instruments from that era have faded or completely vanished neck dates. Another sad fact of life. Doesn't need a lot of investigation. It happened.
Most likely due to interaction of solvents, lacquers, sealers and the ink stamp. Morgan got it right.
