You know they call that stuff *body* spray, not *shirt* spray, right?

I still give you points for "Most Intriguing Thread Title of the Month" though :^)

and sorry to hear about your guitar...

Yes. It was Axe Anarchy body spray. Every bit of the finish including the shellac seal coat transferred to my shirt - about the size of a golf ball. The lacquer was Mohawk Musical Instrument Lacquer and about a week old polished out just the day before. There should be a large print warning lable on the body spray that tells you that the product is hazardous to awesome guitars.

About two years ago, I had a client bring in a Gibson L7 that had a terrible finish blemish on the side. The finish was all gummy and sticky in an area about 3 X 6". It also had a separation of the fretboard from the neck next to the nut. I called Gibson to ask about warranty issues. They told me that the fretboard separation was due to improper trussrod adjustment (TOTAL BS!) and that the finish problem was due to deodorant and now I believe them about the deodorant.

Mosquito repellent (playing outdoors in the summer?) will do the same thing. Takes the nitro raaht off!

I had a guitar body I painted with Krylon rattle can lacquer. I had let it cure for a month and was getting ready to wet sand and polish. It was a hot day, and several hours before I had used spray on sun block. I was sweating as I was doing the wet sanding and polish and some of the sun block from my skin got onto the paint and emulsified it. The job was ruined. Makes me wonder how "safe" the sun block is on the skin.

So now I have to know what happened. Did the woman in question ever call or apologize or give an explanation?

She's been stringing me along for about four years now. It ain't gonna happen any time soon but she gives me a reason to shave and change my socks every now and then so the world remains a better place.

Axed the Axe....sad story.

If you've known this lady for 4 years and she's been available and the program has not yet been sold, she's the flirty type that just likes to have guy friends. I've found it hard to get close to those types and experience has told me I would have been better off if I hadn't!

A while back I had a lady who was around for a while start to put hair spray on in my studio room. I stopped that action. It didn't last.

"Mosquito repellent (playing outdoors in the summer?) will do the same thing. Takes the nitro raaht off!"

I was seeing red and contemplating harm when My lady took out her newly refurbished 1958 Kamaka soprano ukulele that had just been returned from Kamaka, and started playing it at the "Piranha Club" meeting of all her "sista's".. SHe had "off" on her hands and arms and left a nice withered and melted spot on the upper bout. I was livid.

I took it back and was in luck. They repaired it at no cost as I had literally just picked it up that week. They knew what it was, but graciously wrote it off to the finish not yet being cured.

No more Off and ukuleles..

I wasn't sure if I was looking forward to or dreading hearing what you could do to lutherie what Swayze/Moore did to ceramics.

Also, let's all chip in and get you some big boy cologne. I'm partial to the Polo line myself. ;)

Dude.

Halston Z14.

It's the Hai Karate of the New Millennium.

But a word of warning: there's an 87.3 percent chance the woman will say something like, "Mmmm, you smell like Peegoo."

Don't say I didn't warn you.

It should probably have a warning: Keep clear of open flames and murphy beds.
