Vintage Blonde, 12" radius neck, Vintage noiseless pup's, and more I am forgetting.

I was not sure what to expect but, I have not found one flaw in it yet. Finish, fit, setup perfect. I have not changed anything.

Very impressed so far except came in a gig bag.
I did buy a tweed case for it though.

Very impressed.

Congrats InBaghdad!

The specs on that pretty much cover everything I like in my strats. Primarily the VN pups, Tone for bridge pup, and extra switching options. I presume the push-button offers N+B and N+M+B combinations, yes?

I do prefer 9.5"R but, that said, if I bought one of those, there would nothing I'd change either. (and I'm a mod maniac!)

All my MIM's are standards and they've all been great quality imo. I just can't help myself when it comes "personalising" them!

Yes, has the push-button. I really like the guitar. I'm really impressed with the quality.

After thinking about it, I would probably swap the push-button with a mini-toggle.

The toggle is much easier to switch on the fly. That's how I have my strat that has the "7-position" set up.

See, I told you I can't help myself!

If this is the Deluxe Player Strat, it actually doesn't have a tone control in the bridge position, and there's no easy way to add it.

Instead of devoting one pole of the selector switch to the tone controls, Fender dedicated it to the push button switch so that it would only add bridge in positions 4 and 5, and does nothing in position 3. The tone controls are now hard-wired to the neck and middle pickups respectively, and the bridge pickup is left out.

I think this was a questionable decision by Fender. It would have been better, IMO, to just have a "bridge on" switch which would work in any position of the selector switch. Yes, this would have added the redundancy of having two ways to achieve M+B, but it would have allowed more freedom with the tone controls.

Sorry if that's too nerdy, congratulations on your new guitar.

"If this is the Deluxe Player Strat, it actually doesn't have a tone control in the bridge position..."

I think Fender stopped making the "Deluxe Player" series. They now has a series simply called "Deluxe" and listed as 'NEW' on the website. (not to be confused with the American Deluxe)

Interesting. I see the new "Deluxe" still has the push button and the description still says it "adds bridge pickup in positions four and five," so I suspect it has no tone control in bridge position. Perhaps InBaghdad can confirm?

I'd be curious whether it has any tone control in the bridge position -- perhaps InBaghdad can tell us??

Congrats on the guitar, In Baghdad. That Blonde Ash/black guard combo is very cool.

They also have the Roadhouse version Deluxe, which is the same basic guitar, with a 6-way booster/preamp instead of the bridge-on switch. Fender says both have a second "Master" tone control, in addition to the Neck/Middle tone. I'd be curious to know how this works, too.

"I suspect it has no tone control in bridge position."

If you click on the "Specs" tab, under "electronics" it says Tone 2 (Bridge pickup).

I haven't been able to play it much. Still dealing with all the Dr visits.

Not sure about the bridge control in those positions.

The mystery deepens. What page are you looking at? The one I found (link) lists the controls as:

"Controls: Master Volume, Tone 1 (Neck/Middle Pickups), Tone 2 (Master Tone)."

Kind of an odd setup, if that's accurate.

Click on 'specs'

Te,
My page is on the Fender AU site. The Fender US site can't be accessed from AUS.
Used to be able to back-door through the forum, but they blocked that. Don't know if you can go the other direction though. Give it a try.

"...The Fender US site can't be accessed from AUS..."

You could access blocked USA websites by using a proxy server, which essentially makes your computer look like it's in the USA by giving it a USA IP address.

I'll leave it up to you whether you want to research that and try it out.
