Anyone know what the wattage rating is for the large 100K Slope Resistors in the Blackface circuits, 1W, 2W? Nothing on the the schedmatic that I can see.

I believe they are 1/2 watt resistors.

Their physical size is more than double what all the rest of the carbon composite resistors are in the circuit. Made me think they might be a higher wattage rating. This is usually the reason for larger size resistors of the same ohms due to the added heat they experience, I believe.

There very well may be 1 watt resistors in your amp even though the schematic calls for 1/2 watt. I've seen this before while servicing vintage Fenders. They used whatever they had in stock and if they were overstocked in 1 watt that's what went in the circuit.

I guess I'll stick the 1/2W in there seeing how that's what it calls for and I have plenty of those, no need to replace them with the 1W. I couldn't figure out why they were so big, the schedmatic says all resistors 1/2W 10% tolerance if not specified. Thanks everyone

In my experience, and if my memory serves (yikes) most slope resistors after about 1970 production were, or tended to be, 1 Watt carbons. Earlier models did specify 1/2 watts but I have certainly seen 1 watts in blackface production amps.
