I thought I was nuts because I recall the saddles and finally found a photo of the same bridge mine had.

I know it was old and was the butter scotch color all nicked and chipped and all the chrome was rusted. I bought it in 66 with the hard shell case and at the time you could get all new chrome plates and screws so I did got them ordered right out or an old music shop in Roselle IL. Even got the bridge cover which was missing. It had a maple board . Trouble was I could never play such a thin neck. I know the body was ash.

Any one know when fender stopped using that bridge?

Fender started issuing threaded steel saddles in 1958 on Esquires and Telecasters.

They've never really went away because there's almost always been a model (whether US, MIM or MIJ) available with threaded steel saddles.
