Sorry that I missed it, too. But I seriously do love the idea of mini-jams. Once a year to hang out, eat BBQ, talk gear, eat BBQ, play and listen to some great pickers, eat BBQ...just isn't enough. 🎸🎸🎸

Zenland, you're just too kind. I had a blast & don't think we didn't notice you burning up your pickless right hand!

Edit: Got to redo this.

I had a mic at the back of the room recording the Jam. It picked up the sounds with no distortion.

mojo-If I get this right you'll have a copy.
Still learning this pro tools set up.

mojo-Thanks!
I did have a pick but was using my other fingers and didn't realize how hard I was digging into the strings!

Clay was almost begging me to play his Firebird and I'm glad I did! It was real easy to play but that might have been why my finger tips had cuts on them! Heavier strings caused that but it was a blast to try something new!

Carry On!

New guitar in the house!

Got an Epiphone Casino Coupe VS! 339 size hollow body with P90 dog ear PU. Came with a nice case and got it for a decent price. Don't know if I will keep and it may need an upgrade on those P90's if I do keep her.

On the recording front I've switched over to Studio One because I can't do multiple tracks (only 4) unless I upgrade (pro tools) and that's an expensive package.
For right now that is.
The learning curve is deep enough for me but, I am getting some really good help.
Fingers crossed lol...

Way cool.

Basement recording is a real blast. There are no rules and you can do whatever you like.

"Got an Epiphone Casino Coupe VS!"

Had to look up the "VS" but didn't find much, what does that stand for? Have you got much playing time with it yet?

Vintage Sunburst-It's got a nice yellowish tint going to red then black at the edges.

Not crazy about the neck which I think is called a slim D neck taper?
It's not bad just different and I do have playing time with good results.

BUT!
There is a 5422 Gretsch calling my name!

GAS is bad on this one cause I've already played it!

I thought you were GASsing for an LP with P-90s, Ken? I like the overall vibe of the Casino...had a 330 waaaay back in the day...but I'm with you on the slim neck profile. Had a PRS SE 245 Soapbar with a very nice wide fat neck, but I ended up trading it and some pedals toward a 63 Vibroverb RI.

Speaking of which...we need to see some chatter on the next Jam. It's only a few months away!!! If I still have the VV, I'll probably bring it, but right now I'm loving me some tweed 5E3 tonz. And it's so light and portable...yaay!

guitargeezer-Yeah on the LP/P-90s but that's kind of why I got the Epi. For now.
Could always have the neck shaved down if it's a keeper.

Not giving up on a LP! Just want to go humbuckers on the LP I want.
Going to go play some next week.

My first really good guitar was a 330 with dog ear P-90s back in the day. Think I paid $150 for it! Would love to still have that hah!

And! Danged if (your thread on) that Johnny A Epi isn't freaking SWEET!
(see more GAS LOL)

I've thought about what I want and narrowed it down quite a bit so the wheels are in motion to achieve those results.

VV sounds good but I'd love to hear the tweed 5E3 Tonz!
Bring it! :)

OK, who else is bringing something NEW to the jam?! Let's see what we should expect to see and hear!

The only new thing I'll be bringing is a Marshall Mini Jubilee amp, 20W. It's awesome!

"OK, who else is bringing something NEW to the jam?! Let's see what we should expect to see and hear"

Everything I bring is "new" since the last jam. 😎 And we're still a few months out, so... All my geetars are "new" since last time...a 2009 Les Paul Traditional Plus, and a Tele partscaster I picked up over at TGP. It has a rosewood board, 24.75" scale Warmoth neck ('59 profile), but I've got a maple Warmoth boatneck en route, so it may end up on the body.

Amp wise, I'm probably going to bring my "new" Cox Deluxe Ultimate 5E3 and my Fryette Power Station (for y'all to try out...so bring your 5-watters or 100- watt Marshalls!!!). I also recently picked up a used '63 Vibroverb Reissue...the amp was in great shape, but the grill cloth was shredded. So I bought some Mojotone cloth and had the baffle recovered, and I swapped out the stock Oxfords (one was torn, anyway) and replaced them with two Eminences...a ceramic Legend 1058 that I already had, and an AlNiCo 1028k. Sounds even better now, and it was the first time I had ever removed an amp speaker baffle (to take it to a local upholstery shop for the recovering), and then swapped in the new speakers. Not a difficult task, by any means, but I'm about 180 degrees from willie, so I'm proud of myself for not hurting myself in the process or ruining a good amp. 😊

Edited to add a pic of the Vibroverb after the new grillwork.

Geezer's "project"

Amp looks great Geezer...Congratulations on a fine job. I hate working with cabinets, baffles, and grill cloth. I would much rather tackle a chassis full of point to point snafus.

I will likely be the weirdo and bring my new Roland Blues Cube Artist...weird because it's a solid state amp which is not my usual nom de voyage so to speak. :) No new guitars though...same old axes so far. :)
