My 1995 BD has started cutting out intermittently. When it does, the red light for the drive channel comes on, even though I am using the clean channel. Any suggestions?

My amp tech replaced the filter caps and replaced a couple of resistors with higher amperage resistors of the same ohm value. Just got it back so will be testing it for cutting out!

I think there may be some good YT videos on BD maintenance.

Assuming tubes are okay, the Plate load resistors on the Phase inverter are very likely. Tech job.

I had the same thing happening on my 90's BD when I played it hard. If you played it at normal volume it didn't happen but when you played loud and if there was a huge abrupt change in volume it would cut out. I never did figure out the reason why. I just sold it to Guitar Center for $300. Fortunately the guy testing it didn't crank it when I brought it in.
I do remember swapping tubes and spraying contact cleaner in the sockets and pots didn't help.

I played two gigs this weekend with the amp (after replacing caps and a few resistors) and everything worked as it should. It's over 20 years old so I guess caps are getting tired at that point.
