Has anyone ever written up a timeline/spreadsheet/database on different pickups, their specs and traits?

I don't, but if it helps at all, one of my PJs has a DiMarzio Area P. The other has a Duncan Vintage P. Both have Fender Super 55 J pickups and the combinations work well for my purposes.

I just googled "bass pickup comparison chart"...there's a ton of info out there.

One J has Aero Type 1 pickups
Other J has Aguilar dual coils

Both are great pickups but with the Aguilar dual coils I found lining the pickup cavities with copper foil tape affected the tone (flat, dull sounding) so I removed it and they sprang to life and totally quiet.

I like the Aero Type 1's because they are pretty quiet in copper lined cavities and have nice tone. They are fat, articulate (non muddy)sounding and paired with Labella flats they are awesome.
