I've been in a very dangerous "Martin phase" lately...

Bought a D-35/50 Standard in 2015 (50th Anniversary of the D-35)

Bought an amazing (!) 2012 D-18 a few months ago... WOW!

Just found a nice '68 00-16C nylon string (spruce top, hog b/s). it's on it's way (will be here Tuesday). I've been watching video's of these little nylon string wonders on YouTube - can't believe they're not more popular! They have great volume, balance, and just incredibly rich tone.

The guy who sold me this one also had a 00-28C with Brazilian b/s ...he *only* wanted $2500 for it (and was willing to let me make payments), but I've found the tone of this little mahogany ones to be quite nice.

But seriously - where else could you buy an old Martin with Brazilian back and sides for only $2500??? If it were a steel string, it would go for 2-4 times that amount!

I'll give a full report and post pics when it gets here.

Edited to add: I'll be converting it to play left-handed.

Everyone needs at least 1 nylon string guitar in their arsenal. I hope that you enjoy it.

Is the 00-28C a lefty?

I've looked at those nylon stringers on the web, would sure like to see one in person one of these days.

I've never heard anything but positive things about any 16-series Martin.

Texican, no its not a true lefty, but the nylon string Martins are easily converted to lefty.

Ragtop, I love mine - nice little guitar with a BIG sound. It weighs absolutely nothing, but it has an amazing tone coming out of it.

They're around, and if you're patient, you can find a good deal on one. You could even post your interest on the UMGF forum and someone will be offering you one (or more!) before you know it. I had a line on another one (from another UMGF'er), but chose this one because it was in a bit better shape for the same price.
