FDP Forum / Fender Guitars: Jaguars & Jazzmasters / Treble Bleed for Johnny Marr Jaguar

I played the new American Professional Series Jaguar with the treble bleed and liked it. I am considering having a treble bleed mod on my Johnny Marr Jag. I have read that there is three different ways to do it. Does anyone have any experience or recomendations? Any knowledge of what Fender is using on the new American Professional Series guitars?

I have hear it's a 150K ohm resistor and a .001 uf cap in the Fenders. Sounds right to me. I use the same cap but a 100K resistor in my Strats that have treble bleed. My JM has a 150K.

You can fiddle with the values and even add a trim pot to dial it exactly where you want it.

If you google "treble bleed" there is a lot on the web these days.

Thanks, I'm just starting to learn about these. My Jaguar really needs it since I all the highs drop off when the volume knob is backed off.

I just spoke with Nathan at Fender. The volume pot on the Johnny Marr is 1 meg vs 500K on the American Professional Series. The American Pro Series uses a 470 pf cap with a 150 ohm resistor. Does the 1 meg value of the volume pot on the Marr change the requirement for the cap or resistor?

Nah, it should work fine with that spec.
