FDP Forum / Amp Mods, Repairs, and Projects / Help repairing Fender Deluxe 90 Amplifier 1999

Yesterday my Fender amp suffered an unfortunate injury, resulting in the power receptacle at the back to be broken. When this happened the amp began to hum loudly, it changes in intensity depending on what angle you hold the power cord. I don't know why.

I pulled the amplifier out to see what I could do to fix it, and I was wondering if the inside looked normal. Also, I have ordered a new receptacle to put in the amp, its a 10A250V ac.

I was also wondering if there was anything else I could do to eliminate the hum.

The amp wiring photo isn't detailed enough to be much help.
Some different angles, close ups and better lighting would be good.

Whatever, when the new receptacle is fitted, it is safety critical that you check that there's very low resistance between the amp chassis metalwork and the ground pin.
