his was a Fender model from a few years back. Looked like their 52 Reissue model, but with a couple changes. One, it had a nitro finish. Two, it sported a pair of Seymour Duncan pickups: Tele bridge and mini-humbucker neck.

Does anybody know which models of Seymour Duncan pickups that guitar had?

All I can seem to find via google searches and TOO MANY online youtube reviews is people just saying "Seymour Duncan". No model designation.

I don't think Fender ever specified the model number of the SD pup in their literature, but it is the SM1-n. This is the basic SD mini, based on the 50's-era Gibson Firebird. There are variations on this The SM1-b, for bridge, and 'modern' hotter versions--SM-2, SM-3. But the basic vintage model is the SM1.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

I started this thread because I have ideas for a guitar of my own I'm building. An SM-1 is a nice starting point.

Any idea what they slapped in the bridge of that guitar? I'm curious because I'm wondering what sort of Tele bridge pickup you'd need to "match" and balance with a mini hum in the neck.

I have a Hot Rod myself which I bought new in 08, great guitar, I dont know the specs of the pickups as such but I can tell you that I A/B tested it together with a std 52 reissue and the bridge pickup is slightly hotter.

I link my review and a couple of sound bites in case in helps.
