Love my little amp but needed more punch. After reading numerous posts, and thinking about it for at least a couple years, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered an eminence Ragin' Cajun on Wednesday evening from Sweetwater, $64.99, free shipping. It arrived yesterday (!) and in less than 15 minutes I went from opening the box to playing.

The size difference of the magnets alone is surprising, but wow, the sound is SO much better. Fuller and richer is how I'd describe it. I had to turn the tone knob on my Tele up because there was so much more bass response. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade!

I snapped up an SCXD when they first came out. It's an ideal grab-n-go amp that does everything you need at lower volumes. The stock speaker was a bit lackluster, so I swapped in a Celestion Gold 10 and it sounded much better.

Yeah, mine is an early version too. Got it stupid cheap! GC sale, plus a coupon made it a no brainier. I see what they go for now, and I can't believe it.

I've had mine since they first came out. Still use it every Sunday morning. I use a Jensen C10R speaker.

I switched the stock speaker to a WGS Veteran 10 in my SCX2. I wanted to upgrade the stock speaker _and_ I wanted a speaker with lower efficiency for home practice (this one has a Sound Pressure Level (spl) rating of 93.84dB), and Vet. 10 sounds really great.

Had mine for ages but use it sparingly but when I do I am always amazed at how good it can sound - not just stock - but with a few clever marriages.

I document my findings with a pic usually so I don't forget for the next time!

SCXD good setting/pairing

I went a little further and had a slightly larger cabinet made to handle a 12" speaker. World of difference! Still easy to transport, and sounds as good as my DRRI. Have used it many times in the smaller clubs we play in that don't have a lot of stage space.

I did the 12" speaker in a Newell cab thing too. At the time i couldnt decide between a Blues Jr and a SCXD, so I bought a used SCXD with the mod in mind. Went with a Warehouse G12C, sort of a vintage Jensen C12. Gives a Deluxe Reverb meets Princeton vibe. Nice!
