My fellow DC Jammers; Excellent coordination. You all know I have the drum & percussion equipment covered, so I think we are good to go.

REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS JAM!!!!

PS: "The voices in my head are on vacation"

See you all soon.

I'd run the keys through the PA. My bands keyboard player recently blew out a small guitar combo when he was hitting some low notes on his Hammond. Just my $0.02

What a fun jam! A very small group of players (8 or so), but a full song list and great playing all around. There were lots of gaps in the tunes and everyone stepped up to play bass, guitar, etc.

I gotta say--there are some *talented* people among us. It is a pleasure to share a stage with them--or sit in the peanut gallery and be amazed at the wonderful musicianship and singing abilities our friends have.

Thank you Tiller2 and GmanNJ for pulling together this jam. What a blast.

The second annual March on Washington jam is in the books! A fun, music-filled day at the Electric Maid.

Sincere thanks to everyone who drove many miles to take part, brought equipment, helped with preparations, setup and teardown.

My Fellow DC Jammers, Thank you all for the GREAT TIME, I made it back to NJ, safe. Getting ready for the next Jam.

Now I have to deal with the voices in my head for leaving them home, it never stops.

Well, *I* had fun...I hope the few audience members who were there did to!
I took some chances: "Hey wanna play bass on 'Simply Irresistible?"
"Uhh....sure...how does that go again?"

Thanks again to Andrew for hosting and Gman for 'herding the cats'... Hopefuly next year's will be "A Return to Bigness".

Special thanks to the drummers who may not have known everything we threw at them. :)

I echo all that's been said. It was a great day in DC and it seems like much fun was had by all. As a personal added bonus, I got to have dinner with my daughter in Newark, DE on the way home, which was really nice. (I highly recommend Firebirds for carnivores who pass through.)

well THAT was Fun!!
great people, great venue, great vibe....

hopefully we can bolster the attendance and keep this a regular yearly thing.

Many thanks and props to Geno and Scott for getting the sound dialed in and everyone else for keeping the volume under control. Its a small storefront and with 2 guitar amps, bass amp, keyboard amp, 5 vocal mics there is a lot of potential volume issues that never materialized

Chickie and his PERV van had all the percussion and even a spare timbale set up. that was a lot to load in and load out.

Everybody pitched in to help set up, keep it moving and break down. Great effort by all attendees.

This jam was a Notable First for me: it's the first one ever where nobody left something behind!

We played a Warehouse Jam two years ago here in MD, and a new guy (bass player) showed up and rocked the joint with us. As he was leaving, he said he had a gig later that night in Baltimore.

An hour later as we were sweeping up and loading out the PA and my other stuff, "Hey...whose cases are these?" His two basses were there in the corner. HAR! He called about 15 minutes after we discovered 'em. Guess he got home, popped his trunk, and thought, Hmmm, where are my basses?

True story.

Speaking preliminarily, I think we should go for DC Jam No. 3 next year!

I am now taking a few steps to get a few more participants. First, I posted a short description w/photo of the jam on the "Guitarists of the DMV" FB page, and already had a guitar player ask to be considered for next year.

I will make a little Powerpoint about how the jams work that I can show a couple of music teachers (of adults) and a music store owner who has a lot of adult customers. If they can help draw in 4-6 more locals that would solve the attendance problem. If someone can post a good overall photo of the stage, I'd like to use one.

We'll talk about this further next November or so.

Here's a link to the pics I took.

Apologies for the poor quality of the photographs.

I went totally MacGyver and made a camera from a Solo cup, a 9v battery, some potato salad, and a piece of bubble gum I found under one of the chairs.

Good MacGyvering! But tell us how you MacG'd a bass amp, after some jam organizer (whoever he was!) did not verify that we had a bass rig coming. I know it involved a powered 15" speaker you found laying around.

I made a direct box out of a dirty ash tray, a roll of Life Savers, a few twist ties, and some gaffer tape.

It worked pretty well and no bass players griped about it.
