They buy just about any vintage amp especially Fender. Go to Guitarcenter.com and look up vintage gear. The pictures aren't that good and there is basically no information provided about the item but you can call or email any of the listed stores and Find out more info but don't be to surprised if they don't know much.

They offered me $200 for an almost mine '69 Dual Showman Reverb head. I refused the offer.

Unfortunately, they are a business and have to resell what they buy. So, buy low and sell high.

Their not going to pay the going rate or even close because they want to make the profit. At least from what I've seen lately their prices are in the ball park for vintage gear. Years ago they were way to high. I think the market has caught up to their high prices, they haven't gone down to meet the market.

Several years back I bought from GC a perfectly-working Peavey Classic 20 with a Celestion Vintage 10 in it. No rips or tears in the tolex or speaker grill.

Out the door price was $53.

This proves that you *can* still get a deal on used gear at GC.

I had a perfectly working Magnatone M10A amp I brought in there once and they offered me $100 for it. They seem to sell routinely for $600 on Ebay.

When I pointed that out, they said "we aren't going to pay top dollar retail for it"

Once they bought a broken Fender Blues Deluxe from me for $350, though. One channel didn't work. The guy didn't seem to care.

Stay clear. You will be low balled to the max; unless you like to be insulted, that is.
