I hooked up my DRRI to an extension cabinet w/ an 8 ohm 12" speaker in it. I used the extension speaker jack on the back of the amp. I left the speaker in the amp plugged in as it normally is. Had the amp at about 4 and both tone controls on about 9. When I played the low E string I got a very odd loud low frequency tone being produced. Very annoying. When I unplugged the extension speaker, this stopped happening. Any clue why this happened?
Some kind of odd frequency causing something to resonate to produce the odd low tone?

Play the amp through only the extension cab and see if the problem persists. If it does, you know it's either a damaged speaker or loose hardware or broken glue joint somewhere on or in the extension cab.
