For years I’ve played compound radius necks and last year I picked up two Telecasters with 9.5 straight. For myself… I think this 9.5 radius might be the perfect radius. Very comfortable in a fender modern ‘C” with me… I think they play better than my compound radius necks.

Both of my Teles have 9.5 radius fretboards.

I do own 2 Strats and 1 on Charvel So Cal with compound radius fretboards and they are super comfortable.

I prefer a 9.5" radius on my Teles as well. As for the backside of the neck, I prefer soft V's so I'm not a big fan of the Fender Modern C shape as a first choice.

I have an Am Dlx strat with compound radius and V neck. I love the feel and shape of that one.

I have a Strat with a compound radius but not a big fan. My favorite radius is 7.25 and have it on one Strat and two Tele's. I'm OK with the 9.5 as well and 12" on on my Gibson's, etc.

I own various guitars with 9.5", 10" and 12".

If I had to pick, I'd say 9.5" but any of the above are really fine with me.

Switching from one to the next isn't a problem either. I think my brain & hands just re-calibrate after a bit of playing.

However, I did have a guitar that was a 15.75" R and that just didn't do it for me. Too flat. Sold it.

My favorite guitar is a 7.25 radius, but the frets were sculpted by a magician. I like a 9.5 or 10" radius for my mere mortal capabilities.
