Hey there!

I am new to the board and I hope that I can find some help here.

On my Blues Junior MiM something strange happened out of the blue:

When I turn it on, nothing comes out of it until I reach 6 on the master volume knob. It acts like an on/off switch, before 6 its off and after that on. From 6 to the end there is no increase of volume. Before the incident I always had it at around 6 and the volume knob around 4, that was a good apartment volume. Now its super loud if it "switches" on at around 6 and the volume knob at 1.

I exchanged all tubes, checked the fuses, checked for anything unusual looking on the board, nothing.

Technicians are rare around here, so before I send it anyway I thought somebody might have an easy way out.

All the best,
Jonas

Something not right. Quick question--

What happens when you max the master on 10 and then gradually bring up the volume?

It gets louder and louder. Really loud.
And there is white noise coming as well, but I think thats normal. I don't think the amp was as loud as this before without the problem.
But am not sure if I ever maxed the master.

There is a sweet spot around 6 on the master knob, when suddenly the reverb is full on there, even though its turned down. A tiny millimeter up and reverb is gone again.

Possibly a poor ground on one or more pots.
