FDP Forum / Fender Guitars: Stratocasters / 1960 players grade strat!

Oct 12th, 2016 06:59 PM   Edit   Profile

Hi all....I'm back! I was a member here many many years ago and had a few problems.
I did miss this place as there is a great amount of knowledge here.
Hopefully we can let bygones be bygones and start fresh.
i recently bought a player grade 1960 strat.
Refinished body and neck. New pots, one original pickup and supposedly the other two pickups are pre-CBS. Any way to tell?

I was also told it was the original case, which I have since learned, its not.
I hope I didn't get burner.
The body has an 11/60 stamp, and the neck has none, which is not uncommon.
Any way to accurately date a neck and pickups with no marks??
I don't know how to show pics on this site.

Here's my posting from another forum that lets you upload photos directly.

Wow! I like it. How old is the refin?

I guess the only way to determine if you got burned depends on how much you paid?

By the way, cool case, too.

I have no idea how old the re-fin is. But..its done very well. You can see white under the gold, and parts of the Gold are greening very slightly.
I was told the case was original, but Its not Fender Tolex and the interior isn't right.
