I've recently "downsized" by selling off 3 of my other guitars, but decided I could still manage to "upsize" by 1. ;^)
So a tele it was...

Nothing you all haven't seen before, but I got a 2016 MIM Standard Tele the other day.
Lake Placid Blue/Maple.

I have a CS Twisted Tele neck pickup I *thought* I was going to drop in immediately, but I'm very happy with the stock neck pup.

The only "enhancements" I've made are the position markers on the control knobs, and swapped the string tree for a barrel style one.
I will be replacing the 9's with 10's however.

Really like the sound & feel of this gee-tar.

(just realised I haven't even pulled the plastic off the pickgaurd & nickel pickup cover!)

per FDP rule #37

Hey, you sold 3 guitars, that means you HAD to buy one (at least). Nice choice!

Of course if you don't put the Twisted Tele neck pickup in this Tele, you'll need to get another Tele to put it in. They're just too good of pups to have just lying around. :-)

Yes, that's typically how my brain works!

Love your logic, sell three buy one......you are still reducing by an overall number of two. And we all need a Tele or two!

Mick....that is damn pretty!!..

did you install the knob markers yourself..or did they come that way?....

I always set mine so that the set screws are facing up and slightly towards the neck.....

that being said.. I like the markers

That is a beaut!

LPB is my favorite Tele color. It just...works for that shape of guitar body.

Thanks guys!

@ Guitar Fool:
I put the position markers on. I have done the set screw thing too, but I prefer the "dots" now. It's more of an aesthetic thing than function thing.
I place the dot so that the set screw is facing down (90 degrees to the neck).

The process is simple: mark the location with a sharpie; set a dimple with prick-punch; then drill with 1.5mm bit and move up progressively by .5mm until I get to 3.5mm.

I only drill deep enough so that there is a wee tiny "lip" around the hole.
Next I use a small artist's brush to paint in nail polish (colour of choice).
The little "lip" acts like a dam to hold in the nail polish and makes for a sharp clean edge/finish.
Let dry - install - done!

Other tip: I start my pilot hole with a "hurdy-gurdy" drill.

@Peegoo - Yes, LPB and Maple work especially nice together IMO.
