I am thinking of buying a G5235 Pro Jet with a G tailpiece and convert it to appear like almost a Duo Jet. I already own a Duo Jet and would like to use the cheaper version as a gigging workhorse.

First off, will this guitar take a Bigsby B7 considering I need to screw it down on the guitar top near the string bar. Is the construction totally hollow or it has a center wood block running through like a Gibson 335 or Tele Thinline ?

Next, will I be able to change the pickups to TV Jone's PowerTrons with Universal mount to fit the original pickup rout ?

Any help is much appreciated.

The Jet is a chambered body with a center block, and the B7 will work fine on it.

Far as pickups go, what's already on there?

Depending on the model (and where they're made--MIJ, MIK, MIC), they come equipped with various pickups. Chances are pretty good you'll need to do some minor mods to the body (remove some wood from the routs) to fit the new pickups. This isn't a difficult thing to do.

I know a few Gretsch guys use this to adjust Bigsby on the Pro-Jet. No holes to drill. Check 'em out.

The Jet doesn't need the tension bar because of the arched top: that carve increases string angle over the bridge.

I don't even engage the down tension bar on my Projet. I string over it..If I don't the Bigsby is almost useless.

It's the wrong Bigsby for that guitar anyway. It's for a flat top guitar like a tele, not a semi archtop like the jet. The spaces and ill fit bug me.
